About to launch!

About to launch!

So its early March and we’ve nearly got everything ready to finally launch our kickstarter campaign. It’s take a long time, a lot of effort, and even some heated debates to get to this point. We can’t wait for this to happen and hopefully you’ll buy into the idea as much as we have.

If you would like to support us please head to the kickstarter website and search for PuzzleBox.

Wish us luck!

Why do you care?

Why do you care?

There are many companies that state that their furniture can be recycled. There are few companies who’s furniture will be recycled.

The disparity between what can be recycled and what will  be recycled, often comes down to that most insidious of objectives: ‘Economic Viability’.

The main problem is mixed materials. Once two different materials have been bonded together; even if both materials are, in themselves, eco friendly, recycled and/or recyclable, the cost of separating them in addition to the cost of returning them to a useful state makes it very much more expensive than the cost of new material… So it often doesn’t happen.

A small percentage of furniture does find its way to Charitable furniture reuse companies, but a lot of that will also end up in landfill once it has failed to sell due to it being scruffy or just plan off-trend.

Puzzlebox intends to change this, by ensuring there will be no mixed bonded or fastened materials that can't be recycled together. The furniture is all supplied as flat pack to ensure reduced storage, transportation, and [ultimately] retail costs.

After manufacture and quality control, Puzzlebox’s innovative designs mean that pieces can be easily assembled by the consumer with no small components, holding together strongly using nothing but wood and physics. This ensures that the furniture can be easily and repeatedly disassembled and reassembled without risk of losing fixings or getting laxity in the joints. Furniture can move with families for decades to come. It is made from sustainable materials and sustainably sourced hardwood, so it can also be restored or repaired with comparative ease. At the end of its useful life, it will be able to be recycled easily.

It is in every essence, furniture for life.
